It’s been a whirlwind of a start to 2010! We’re thankful for such an amazing response from our talk at Mystic5. It was an honor to be amongst such amazing teachers and people and a special Shout-Out to the amazing Walter and his wife Angela who made it all happen. Boy did we Geek and Chic like never before! LOL! I hope y’all took away some great ideas but remember: ideas are lazy; it’s up to you to make 2010 your best year ever.
We’re also thankful for such an amazing response at our Imaging USA QuiKeys booth. Thanks to all old and new friends who made it a non-stop packed booth! It’s so rewarding when our QuiKeys baby has something to offer to not only those just starting out, but to our respected friends, peers and leaders in our industry.
Ok: enough mushy stuff I know we’re a bit late, but here’s a movie of some of our favorite wedding images from 2009. It’s the same one we presented at Mystic5 and after many requests to see the images again, here you go
Thanks to all our amazing clients for their trust and for letting us into their lives … truly we are blessed to do what we do.

I’m very happy to announce our new online shopping cart for photographers is open for business! Say hello to quikPhotoTools.com
If you’ve visited quikeys.com lately, you know we’ve been up to something. We’ve been thinking lots about what we have to you and simplified, it’s this:
“Smart solutions for Creative Photographers.”
It was 2007 when we first shared QuiKeys with the world. Back then we had 1 function and 1 product: QuiKeys for Photoshop.
We’ve come a long way baby
With the addition of different software plug-ins, educational DVD’s and shooting accessories, we needed a new shopping cart to keep up with our growing product line.
It’s still a work in progress with content added regularly, but we’re ready to take orders to help get your life back.
Hold on to your hats cuz 2010 has just begun and we’ve got big plans to make more innovative solutions available to you soon
I had excitedly leaked QuiKlips on twitter months ago, but we’re finally ready to make it public and ship worldwide!
What’s QuiKlips? I’m glad you asked ….
It’s an oversized cell-phone belt-clip which we’ve been using to “wear” our flashes instead of carrying them. One-handed and ubiquitous flash access has allowed us to create images that others can’t and we’re now sharing this vital little piece of the gear puzzle with you all.
Can’t I just use any cell phone belt clip?
You could try. We did But this is the only one that has lasted over 5 years of real-world DQ use and abuse without a single failure. It’s the combination of the oversized tab, quality adhesive and hi-impact plastic that makes it work so well.
Where do you find this stuff?
Back-story: Over 5 years ago, I was trying to find the best way to carry our flashes. Anyone who’s seen us shoot or deconstructed our work will quickly realize we seldom put our flashes on-cam and choose to shoot flash off-camera. Not having our flashes on top of our cams, but still wanting instant access to it was a problem I needed to solve …. without turning to the “bat-belt” or bum-bag that wouldn’t survive the Chic of DQ
Super-fast flash access without the fashion faux pas.
I bought pretty much every cell phone clip I could find from the local shops and online. I stuck them on our battery packs and flashes, and very carefully tested them out. Everything failed! Then, I found this tab at Staples, under the brand Belkin. Finally! Success! I had found a belt clip strong enough to securely attach our expensive flashes, yet easily, with one hand, allow access to the flash. They weren’t at every Staples, so I bought them whenever I found them and stashed them for safe-keeping.
Fast-forward to last year when we switched to Nikon. I had run out of belt clips and tabs (gave them away and used them for other things) and was desperate to find the same ones. I had kept the Belkin packaging and searched the web with the SKU without luck.
Then, amazingly, I found a source which sold every part piece-meal. You had to find each individual piece, and cut the adhesive yourself too, making it very inconvenient.
So I did what anyone would do: I bought 1000 of the parts, customized them for use on flashes, and put them together in convenient packages.
Honestly, I’m not going to retire from selling these little things, but wanted to have a good stash for myself and share this little gem out of our flash nirvana kit with y’all
Phew! Long story: happy ending. All is good. Now go get your QuiKlips here!
Because shooting with style shouldn’t make you look ugly.
I’m always looking to create products that solve *my* problems (and yes: they are many ). One was working up images for blogs and client teasers while on the road. I’ve purchased a small fortune of small ergonomic peripherals; from calculator-pad sized customizable keyboards to fancy shuttles & buttons, but always hated the compromises of a smaller keyboard when compared to my full-sized QuiKeys PRO. Add to that the pains of traveling the world and trying to find workspace on airplane tray-table or lap and I couldn’t find a solution I was happy with.
It’s got many of the non-destructive Smart Tools made famous by its big brother, but doesn’t require any hardware. This Photoshop CS4 plug-in has become my grand-central station for all my retouching needs when away from my QuiKeys keyboard!
It comes complete with a virtualized set of 22 of our most-used QuiKeys PRO keys. But we didn’t stop there ….
Power-Users rejoice! You can also customize the Virtual QuiKeys layout and add actions and scripts of your own!!
Tested on many-a-plane-trip, it’s DQ-approved and ready to rock your world
It’s truly the one Panel you’ll ever need when working in Photoshop.
